Hi. I’m Amanda, the creative mind behind this blog. Let’s get to know each other!
I love coffee, researching education curriculum, gardening, cooking, musicals, books, Jesus and my family. But not necessarily in that order.
If you poke around the site, you’ll hear about my favorite things (raindrops on roses, brown paper packages tied up with string, play based activities, challenging behaviors, sensory materials and books), all manner of, curriculum, 17 years of teaching trials and errors, and parenting confessions, all wrapped in a good dose of grace. I’m a big fan of grace.
As part of a dream to blog, I decided to start a place for all of the words in my head and heart that I just need to share. It turns out that I had quite a few of them bubbling up inside of me.
Along the way, I’ve discovered my inner soapbox: play based curriculum vs. teacher lead teaching and how it pertains to parenting and our children’s readiness for kindergarten and the world.
So grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair and sit with me for a while. I love to chat over a good cup of coffee! Forget about the dirty laundry, the spills and the pile of dishes for now. I’ve learned a little something about grace and love and “good enough” as I have begun to untangle the puzzle of me. It turns out there’s only One who can solve the puzzle of Amanda. It’s a good thing He’s on my side. I’m willing to wager He’s on yours too!
